UX/UI Designer - Brighton, UK
Sprung Studios is looking for an experienced UX/UI Designer to join our team in the Brighton Studio - United Kingdom that works on AAA games for console and mobile.
We need a creative person with a fascination for the way things work to expand our team of talented designers, artists, animators and developers. A passion for video games and the games industry is essential.
The candidate will be part of a vibrant, multi-cultural team and work on some of the biggest titles on the planet. Located in the centre of Brighton, our studio is looking for the next amazing addition to our team.
Sprung is a globally recognised partner for the games industry and has worked on some of the biggest games for clients such as EA, Microsoft, Bethesda, SEGA and many more. We are a growing company of 60+ employees, split across our Brighton and Vancouver studios.
Responsibilities:

As a Sprung Studios designer, you will be assigned to one of the many exciting game projects we have in the studio.
-
With the support of a Lead UX/UI Designer you will be involved in seeing the project through ideation to completion. This includes producing flows, wireframes, visual designs, presentations and working closely with our animators and developers.

The candidate will work in conjunction with a Lead UX/UI Designer to produce high quality, premium UI for games on all platforms.

Take complex game mechanics and use your knowledge of good interaction design to produce creative and effective UX solutions.

Produce professional, considered and annotated documents to showcase your work.

With the help of senior staff, the candidate will be expected to present their work and investigations to clients via conference calls.
Essential Skills & Experience:
-
Excellent working knowledge of Adobe products, including Photoshop, Illustrator & InDesign.

Excellent visual design skills, including colour, shape, layout and typography.
-
A strong understanding of how to apply textures, patterns, layer effects, and blend modes to UI assets in a variety of styles ranging from casual to hardcore gaming.

Ability to solve UX problems both creatively and using conventional methods.

Candidates must be able to work collaboratively in a team environment.

Confidence presenting to clients both in person and via conference calls.

A strong passion for games on all platforms.

Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Outgoing and innovative, with strong interpersonal skills.

A desire to learn.

An excellent portfolio showcasing a variety of designs in different styles.
In your portfolio we want to see:

A focus on design that showcases digital artwork in a variety of styles and genres.

Well presented and annotated designs that are focussed on UI for games across all platforms.

Any work that has included the creation of iconography.

An ability to create beautiful wireframes that display a strong understanding of interaction design and UX thinking.

Motion Graphics Designer - Vancouver, CA
We are looking for a highly motivated Motion Graphics Designer to join our expanding team.
Sprung Studios is a UX/UI Design Agency working exclusively for the Games Industry.
This is a job opportunity for someone who reads about games, plays games, chats with friends about games, dreams about games and would tear down our door to work on some of their favourite games of all time!
The ideal candidate:
Our ideal candidate is a passionate motion designer, continuous learner, and team player. They have a strong preference for craft and an obsession for pixel perfection. They will work closely with UX/UI Leads, UX/UI Designers and a variety of other stakeholders.
Responsibilities:
- Use Adobe After Effects to animate UX/UI Design solutions, bringing dynamism and life to the game interfaces and show our clients how amazing their games could look!
- Work with UX/UI Leads, Producers and UX/UI Designers to understand project scope, objectives, and deliverables.
- Partner with UX/UI Leads, Producers and UX/UI Designers to brainstorm creative concepts, storyboard ideas, and refine animation output.
Essential Skills & Experience:
- At least 2 years experience in Motion Graphics
- Have proficiency in After Effects, Photoshop, and Illustrator.
- Have extensive knowledge of animation principles and motion graphics techniques.
- Have strong visual storytelling and creative concepting experience.
- Be adept at communicating ideas through clear, descriptive storyboards.
- Have strong strong design sensibility (typography, colour, and composition).
- Have the ability to communicate efficiently, and adjust processes to meet project goals and timelines.
- Be able to manage ambiguity, work autonomously, and multi-task.
- Be flexible with taking on initiatives, big and small.
- Comfortable working with vector illustration, and shape animation.
- Ability to manipulate 3D objects in After Effects.
- Have a great understanding of how to create a variety of effects and transitions.
Bonus points if you have the following:
- Traditional 2D Animation / Experience with Flash.
